Galata House Project

Istanbul | 140 m² | 2001

The original architectural features of the 140m²-flat located in a century-old building in Galata, such as the genuine brick walls, ornate floor tiles and massive wood doors, governed the main concept of the project. During the restoration process, the bearing walls were left untouched. The historic overall atmosphere is secretly complemented with the introduction of contemporary architecrural elements such as the plywood lockers, glass sliding doors, steel constructions and the aluminium window frames.
